1946 Lakota Farm Service was named. Z.D. Cutter handled real estate, farm management, insurance, Van Packer Chimneys, and income tax services.
1957 R.E. Busche purchased the business and continued its trades. The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation appointed Busche as an agent in 1958. Randy Schaley, of Petersburg, ND, joined Busche in 1978, and continues to manage the crop insurance portion of the business today.
As the business grew, Lakota Farm Service developed three distinct departments: Real Estate and Management, and Tax Service. The tax service portion was purchased by Allan Orwick in 1984 and continues under LFS Professional Services, Inc.
1988 Ed Uriell purchased the insurance portion of Lakota Farm Service, with his wife, Denise Uriell, joining the agency in 1998 as a licensed agent in all lines. The business continued under the name Lakota Farm Services, Inc.
2023 Mark and Samantha Huso with Beau and Taylor Schaley purchased Lakota Farm Services, Inc. from Denise Uriell and the late Ed Uriell to successfully continue offering all lines of insurance.
